Lunch Dates

I couldn't sit next to my handsome lunch date today due to an intruder,
but enjoyed a nice lunch in the sunshine nonetheless.

{I once had one of these frisky little guys get trapped in the layers of my skirt while teaching 1st grade ... the kids thought it was hilarious ... I was a great pretender that day!}

Alekzander was pretty fond of his green friend.
We had to keep track of his every move.
{Mainly so I would know he didn't try to hitch a ride in my skirt again.}

Two furry friends joined us too when they weren't busy chasing bumble bees.
Alekzander thinks these two are pretty funny.
He laughs and says, "Cee-ra" or "Kai-ra" in an accusatory tone.
They love him too ... especially when he leaves a trail of crumbs.

Green Water

Last year's Green River Revival
. . .
This year's Green River Revival

Alekzander was just a little confused ... going to the Whitewater Center
 ... to see green water?!!

But he had a blast ...
sitting, watching, running, chasing, playing, dancing.

Lucky to Love

So lucky to love these two ... who love each other... and me.

A Green Agenda

St. Patrick's Day Agenda :: Alekzander's Edition

1.  Watch Mommy and Daddy scramble around to find snacks, blankets,
shoes, camera, and green clothes.
2.  Get in carseat; avoid spilling water on my lucky shirt.
3.  Play "Train Spotting" :: Choo Choo Coming!  Look for a train garage where trains sleep,
a new Aldi, a possible leprechaun with pointy ears, runners,
trucks, and lots of people wearing green.
4.  Walk through thousands of people to find the perfect spot to see the parade.
5.  Cheer for drummers and horses.
6.  Ask persistently and insistently for a "nack"
{which Mommy left in the car 10 train stops away}.
7.  Score a free {yummy} Gyro bread.
8.  Exit the madness {only to head to even more craziness}.
9.  Attempt to climb the pole in the train since it was 'standing room only.'
10.  Deliriously attack Mommy and Daddy with kisses
and try to steal the pen off someone's blue (?!) shirt.
11.  Return to car.
12.  Eat another "nack."
13.  Take a quick nap before our next adventure.
{Isn't 13 an unlucky number?}

Drumming with Daddy ... and loving it.

 Little drummer boys ... and girls.

 Hiding under Daddy's hat.

Curbside seating
{Perched beside an unmarked police car}

Two lucky loves

Signature

{The gift of play time at a fun park before "Mama go teach"}

As of late, Alekzander's signature accessory,
aside from his flirty blue eyes,
is either a ball or truck squeezed in his left hand.
Don't leave home without it!

My Best Boy

I still call him my "baby,"
but he is clearly not a baby anymore.
He is so big.

And so fast.

The other day we headed to the park after a rough run
{where it was "winding" really hard}.
After riding for 2.5 miles, it was his turn to run
so I chased him around for nearly a mile.
Aside from scooping up rocks and
finding the perfect stick-baseball bat,
he never stopped!

He is all boy - mama's boy most of the time - in the best
dirt loving, ball playing, hug giving kind of way.
