Open, Shut Them

Alekzander is obsessed with opening and closing doors.  

Because of this, one of the library story time songs,

"Open, Shut Them,"

has been running through my head for days.  

You probably sang it in preschool.

Complete with hand motions.

open, shut them.

give a little clap, clap, clap.

lay them in your lap, lap, lap.

creep them, crawl them.

right up to your chin, chin, chin.

open up your little mouth,

Like Brothers

We went to a two year old's birthday party yesterday.  The little ones made their own fun inside while the big kids played outside.     

Brooks and Alekzander showed up in the same outfit.  These little boys are best buddies in the making.  Or maybe they're more like brothers since they're already fighting.  Over toys.  And food.  Next, it'll be girls!

Shirtless Wonder

Yesterday, Alekzander rocked a t-shirt and a diaper.  

Today, he was a shirtless wonder...

... in an adorable hat ...

(which we now own in two sizes!)

... with matching pants ...

... cruising around; intent on his destination ...

... stand tall, my shirtless wonder ...

Smile gets bigger and bigger.

Nine Months

At nine months, our sweet boy is busy.  He loves playing with doors ... whether its plastering sticky fingerprints on the glass door, or opening and closing cupboard doors, or checking out the hinges on his closet doors, he is fascinated!  And fascinating to watch.  He crawls, lunges, scoots, stands, and cruises.  He is rarely still ... and so much fun.  He babbles all day long and may have figured out the meaning of "mama" and "dada"  ...  which makes our hearts smile.  To be honest, there isn't much he does that doesn't make our hearts smile.  

9 month stats:

19 pounds + 10 ounces (46th %).

29 inches tall (75th %).  

And 100% cute.
